Volunteers are also needed to assist with a variety of administrative and clerical tasks, including filing, data entry and answering phones.

Per Diem SRO Support Staff Positions

  • The SRO Support Staff provides 24 hour supervision of our independent living residence as well as assists clients accepted into the SRO with their daily living and ADL skills. SRO Support Staff reports to the Director of our Independent Living Program.

    QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree in a Human Services area, preferred. One to two years social service experience, preferably in a non-profit environment.

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Upon acceptance into the SRO Program clients will be oriented to the requirements of the specific housing program they are in and a support plan developed that reflects the client’s goals.

  • Perform crisis intervention as necessary.

  • Case Manager will interact with all clients, engaging them in meaningful program activities, such as: Meal preparation, room inspections and participation in scheduled program activities.

  • Document incidents using the client Incident Report forms.

  • Conduct residence census check at the beginning of each shift change.

  • Perform chores as assigned by the Program Director

  • Ensure the safety of each resident, by monitoring the cameras and intervening whenever a conflict arise

  • Document client and facility issues in the staff communication log.

  • When feasible, attend Agency-wide social functions scheduled for either staff or clients.

  • Work closely as a team member with other Agency staff members.

  • Any other activities that the Director might ask in the pursuit of client health and safety.

  • Staff that are on duty between the hours of 8:00am through 12:00am are not permitted to sleep on the job. Overnight staff must be alert at all times throughout the night.

  • All schedules/shift are subject to change

 

Per Diem Fair Housing Tester Positions

Westchester Residential Opportunities, Inc. (WRO), a non-profit housing counseling agency which has been protecting Westchester County residents for over 50 years by advocating with the community for fair, affordable and safe housing for all, is seeking individuals to serve as Fair Housing Testers in our Fair Housing program. If selected, these individuals would be expected to work on an “as needed†basis. Testers will be paid a per diem stipend.

Qualifications:

  • Good verbal and written skills

  • Ability to write a report

  • Reliability and follow through on assignments

  • Able to maintain confidentiality

  • Able to follow instructions

  • Responsibly maintain communication

  • Honesty and objectivity

  • Own a cell phone

  • Must attend paid training session

Training sessions take place at the WRO offices located at 470 Mamaroneck Avenue, Suite 410, White Plains, New York 10605.
